OpenOrbis Guidelines

Welcome to OpenOrbis, the community forum for Hytale fans! This is a place for fans to discuss the game, share their creations, explore modding, find servers, discuss gameplay on Orbis and beyond, and connect with other adventurers as we approach Early Access on January 13, 2026.

Our goal is to create a friendly, inclusive, and creative environment where everyone feels welcome. These guidelines help keep discussions fun, respectful, and on-topic. They apply to all parts of the forum: posts, replies, profiles, signatures, private messages, and any content shared. By participating, you agree to follow these rules. Moderators enforce them fairly, and breaking these rules may lead to warnings, post removals, temporary restrictions, or permanent bans.

This forum is only available to users who are at least 16 years old. If you are younger than this, please do not register or participate in this forum. If you registered, you represent that you are 16 years old or older.

1. Be Respectful and Kind

• Treat everyone with respect. No harassment, hate speech, discrimination, threats, or personal attacks. This includes issues based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, or any other personal characteristic.
• Keep discussions civil. Disagreements are okay (Hytale theories can get intense!), but focus on ideas, not people. No flaming, trolling, or toxic behavior.
• Respect privacy. Do not share personal information about others or post harmful links.

2. No Illegal or Harmful Content

• Do not discuss or promote piracy, cheating, hacking, exploits, or any illegal activity.
• Avoid sharing malware, phishing links, or anything that could harm users or the community.
• Do not mention real-world threats, self-harm encouragement, or dangerous content.

3. Keep It On-Topic and Productive

• Post in the right sections (e.g., modding in Mods, servers in Server Listings, builds in Creations).
• No spam. Avoid excessive bumping, duplicate posts, meaningless replies (like "bump" or only emojis), or off-topic flooding.
• No necroposting. Don’t revive old threads (inactive for over 45 days) unless you can add significant new value.
• Use descriptive titles and search before posting to avoid duplicates.

4. Content and Media Rules

• No NSFW or explicit content. Keep discussions family-friendly. Mild swearing might be okay in some contexts, but excessive profanity or inappropriate topics are not allowed.
• Spoilers should be marked clearly (e.g., [Spoilers] Story Discussion) for game lore, updates, or beta leaks.
• Respect copyright. Don’t share pirated content or heavily infringe on others' intellectual property. Fan art, mods, and inspired creations are encouraged if they are original!
• When sharing external content, credit the sources. No excessive self-promotion (like only promoting your own server or mod in every thread).

5. Accounts and Behavior

• One account per person. Don’t create alternate accounts to evade bans or change discussions.
• No impersonation. Don’t pretend to be staff, developers, or others.
• English is preferred. This helps keep discussions accessible, but other languages are fine in designated areas if available.

6. Moderation and Reporting

• Report any issues using the report button for rule violations; don’t call them out in public.
• If you are warned or banned, follow the appeal process by contacting us at hello@openorbis.world.
• Moderators' decisions are final, but we are here to help—please reach out politely if needed.

These guidelines may change as the community grows, especially after the Early Access launch. We want OpenOrbis to be the main hub for Hytale fans, where we can share epic builds, mod ideas, server adventures, and the excitement of exploring Orbis together.
